what is the surface area of a cylinder that has the diameter of 10 and the height of 8

Apr 26th, 2015

 r = diameter/2 = 10/2 = 5 and h = 8

Surface Area of a Cylinder = 2 Π r2 + 2 Π r h

                                                 =   2 *3.14*5^2 + 2 * 3.14 * 8

                                                 = 207.24

Apr 26th, 2015

thanks very much , but i am still not understanding the math . will my answer come back in pi or would it just be 207.24 ..? i have lots of these

Apr 26th, 2015

ok..  do you want in the pi form

Apr 26th, 2015

uhmm.. sure if you don't mind . Please

Apr 26th, 2015

Surface Area of a Cylinder = 2 Π r2 + 2 Π r h

                                               = Π ( r^2 + r h )

                                               Π  (5^2 + 5 *8)

                                             = 130Π

Apr 26th, 2015

I hope you understood

Apr 26th, 2015

yes i do now thanks .

Apr 26th, 2015

always welcome here dear

Apr 26th, 2015

do you mind answering more questions or are  you

busy ??

Apr 26th, 2015

no......  I have time you may ask more question  to me

Apr 26th, 2015

I will be happy to help you at any time.

Apr 26th, 2015

thank you . how would i set the problem

up for the surface area of a cone with the radius 28 and the height 32 in pi form ??

Apr 26th, 2015

SA = πr(r + l)   where l  is salient height of the cone

   l2 = h2 + r2

        = 28^2 + 32^2

    so  l= 42.52

therefor  SA = π 28(28 + 42.52)= 1974.56 π

Apr 26th, 2015

i can't find the answer .. on my cards

Apr 26th, 2015

 sry I did't understand ..

 I sent you ans ..

may be you have to ask  the question directly to me.

Apr 26th, 2015

i have cards that were cut out , and given to me by my teacher the answers are on the sides of the cards . so have to match them up on a paper and glue them they are based on 3d items , volume , and surface area . but i just don't understand how to get the surface area problems exactly into pi form . yes you might give every step but i still little bit do not understand the answer part .

Apr 26th, 2015

where you have to problem  to understand the  ans which i given.

Plz  tell I will try to explain

Apr 26th, 2015

a square pyramid with the square having 13 measuring all around on each 4 side and the height of 8

Apr 26th, 2015

Hello dear this is other question ...

and what do you want  in this question.

Apr 26th, 2015

what do you mean ??

Apr 26th, 2015

a square pyramid with the square having 13 measuring all around on each 4 side and the height of 8

what do you want to find out from this question ?

Apr 26th, 2015

the surface area , lateral

Apr 26th, 2015

ok....

 Dimeter of square = (13^2 + 13 ^2)^1/2= 18.38

 r = 18.38/2 = 9.19

lateral height  l = (9.19^2 +8^2)^1/2 = 12.18

SA = πr(r + l)=  π 9.19(9.19 + 12.18)

                         =196.39 π

Apr 26th, 2015

 I hope u understand

Apr 26th, 2015

thanks .

Apr 26th, 2015

hello dear you pay for only one question  right ?

I will get a reminder from study pool  that  you solved 3 question and get  money of one question.

Apr 26th, 2015

yess

Apr 26th, 2015

don't mind  plz pay for  two question  more.

Apr 26th, 2015

pay for what again ?

Apr 26th, 2015

if you really satisfied with my ans

If you want then pay  for those two additional question  you have asked to me

Apr 26th, 2015

but i wasn't satisfied with the last 2 , they were wrong . i didn't pay for the 1st one either

Apr 26th, 2015
