A group of friends had dinner at a restaurant. The meal cost $120. There was a 7% tax on the cost of the meal. The group paid a tip that was 15% of the cost of the meal.

A: How much was the tax?   B: How much was the tip?   C: The 5 friends shared the total cost of the meal equally among themselves. How much did each of them have to pay?

A)  TAX = 7% OF 120

             =7 * 120/100  

             = $ 8.4.........................................ANSWER


B)  TIP PAID = 15% OF MEAL COST

                    =15% OF 120

                    = 15 * 120 /100

                   =  $ 18........................................ANSWER


C) SHARING COST MEANS EQUALLY DIVIDING

     meal  cost for five people = 120

    meal  cost for one  person = 120 / 5

                                              = $ 24...................answer
