The Effects OfEmployees’ satisfaction And Leadership Style In Oman Engineering
Company
ABSTRACT
The primary aim of this research is to determine the effect of leadership styles on
employees’ satisfactionthe Oman engineering company Qatar in the year 2017. The study
will depend on the data that will be gathered from supervisors, managers of all project
management programs in the Oman Engineering Company. Although extensive studies are
been carried out in this field determining the link between leadership styles job satisfaction,
there is less information that has been done involving profit-making organization mostly in
the Arab Emirates countries. Different from the existing literature, this research will examine
the outcome of governance styles on employees’ fulfilment in the context of third world
countries, Qatar with particular concerns to Oman engineering Company. “Multifactor
Leadership Questionnaire” adopted in 1985 by Bass together with Avolio and employees’
contentment equipment utilized by Spector, will be applied to gauge the connection between
styles of leadership and employees satisfaction.
CHAPTER ONE
INTRODUCTION
This section includes the background of the research together with the history of the
firm, the statement of the problem, objectives of the study, questions to the study,
significance of the study, limitations to the study as well as organization of the research.
1.1 background of the study
Organisation is referred to as setting with human resource as essential constituents for
proficiency and effectiveness. Institutions require trained and experienced managers
and employees to meet the set goals of the organization. As critical and daily
occurring issues, the progress of a company or its disappointments is a subject rooting
from the styles and techniques of organization leaders. A leader, in this case, can be
referred to as anybody who protects the progress and perseverance of an organization
in alignment with the goals and objectives it was set to carry out. A leader should
have the capacity to create leadership skills that work towards meeting the companies
aims together with the satisfaction of employees to the company (Ababneh, 2013)
According to Taber et al. (2012), employees’ satisfaction for a more significant
percentage is affected by the organizational environment. The environment entails authority
matters, authentic atmosphere as well as the leadership of the workforce. At employee level,
leaders who coordinate employees well by persuading them are remunerated by honest and
effectiveness on the verge of carrying out their work (Mosadegh 2016).
1.2 background of the organization
Oman engineering company is an international profit-making organization based in
Qatar with a large number of employees +1500 in more than 60 branches world wide
world. Oman engineering company was founded in 2001 with aaim to invest in
project constructions such as Roads, bridge, buildings, mechanical and software
build-ups.
1.3 statement of the problem
The method of administration employed by the organization is a crucial determinant
of employees satisfaction together with the needed skills made familiar by the
supervisor's at different levels of the progressive system(Yukl, 2014). Employee's
reaction to the leadership styles of a company is determined by their response towards
work attributes and leader's qualities and skills demonstrated.
Although the relationship between employees’ satisfaction and leadership styles has
been studied widely, less study looked into the connection between style of leadership
and employees satisfaction in matters of the corporate world. This research study will
explore the relationship between employees’ satisfaction as well as administration
techniques in Oman engineering company department of project management.
1.4 Research Objectives
The research objective will be to examine the effect of leadership skills on
employees’ satisfaction in Oman engineering company Qatar.
1.5 Research Questions
Research questions will be:
1. To what extent has the transformational style of leadership affected employees’
satisfaction in Oman engineering company?
2. Which leadership style is related to employee’s satisfaction in Oman engineering
company?
3. How has laissez-faire leadership style affected Oman employees’ satisfaction?
4. To what extent has transactional leadership style affected employees’ satisfaction?
1.6 The significance of the study
The study will be essential to Oman engineering company as it will provide an
outlook and proving solutions to better leadership styles towards maximizing
employees’ satisfaction. The organization will again benefit from the findings of this
study in planning future management models and attaining satisfaction of employees
by improving the styles of leadership.

This study will be comprehensive and examines on how employee satisfaction is
affected by styles of leadership and only restricted to Oman engineering company
within the country.
