Introduction
In the past few years, the rational behavior therapy (REBT) has become a major
intervention used to enhance psychological wellbeing and athletic performances of competitive
athletes. For athletes, the fundamental goal of REBT is to promote a logical and rational response
to life occurrences. That is, adopting the rational and logical perspective that there are worse things
than can happen than fail in sports, as such allowing to suppress dysfunctional emotions that often
trigger stress, depression, and anxiety. According to Turner & Barker (2014) REBT therapists seek
to help clients develop three key types of acceptance namely: (1) unconditional self-acceptance
(i.e. there is no way I cannot have flaws as human); (2) unconditional other acceptance ( i.e. there
is not clear reason why they should see me as special or treat me fairly); and (3)unconditional life
acceptance (i.e. life will not always work out as expected and life will also not go the way I want
always (Wood et al., 2018). Ideally, men are never distubebed by events, but the views held
towards those events as they unfold makes men get disturbed. As such, REBT has a special goal
