how can i find the perimeter and area n math

2cm 8cm 9cm 1cm 7cm and another 7cm

This forms a polygon which will be treated as following;

1) the 7cm sides would be extended to make a square of side each side. This gives an area  of

7x7=49cm^2

2) the two fragmented triangles would have 1, 9 and 7 cms.....and the other triangle be 2,8 and 7cm.Using heros formular, their areas are;

a) a^2=8.5(8.5-9)(8.5-7)(8.5-1)=6.9 cm

b) a^2=8(8.5-8)(8.5-7)(8.5-2)=6.2 cm

Area will be 49+6.2+6.9=62.1 cm^2

Perimeter will be 1+8+2+9+7+7=34 cm
