For all real values of a and b, the equation ;a-b] = 5 can be interpreted as the positive difference of a and b is 5. What is the posisitve difference between the two solutions for a?

|a-b|=5

ie absolute value of a-b=5 that is the positive difference.

Therefore,

a-b=+-5

a=b+5

or

a=b-5

so absolute value of |b+5-(b-5)|=|b+5-b+5|

=|10|=10
