Introduction
This project compares three artworks based on how the artist used different elements of
art while creating them. The pieces of art include William Bouguereau’s “Breton Brother and
Sister (1871)”, Pierre-Auguste Cout’s “The Storm (1880)”, and Thomas Couture’s “Soap
Bubbles, ca. (1859). The three are paintings and can be found at the Metropolitan Art Museum of
NYC.
