Find a solution to the following system of equations.

- 2 x + y = - 3

- x + 2 y = - 3

a.  (–3, –9)

b.  (–21, –9)

c.  (3, 3)

d.  (0, 2)

- 2 x + y = - 3

- x + 2 y = - 3

To eliminate y, multiply  eq.1 by 2  

- 4 x + 2y = - 6

- x + 2 y = - 3

Subtract  equation 2  from 3,

-3x = -3

 x=1
So y = -3 +2 = -1

The points are (1,-1).
