For this assessment, the interviewee will be Gregg Cole. Mr. Cole is the Vice President of
operations for Company X, an American entertainment and mass media corporation with its
headquarters in San Francisco, California. Company X is a mid-sized entertainment and mass
media corporation with approximately 1000 employees. It has divisions in the three states that
include Texas, Alaska, and Virginia where Mr. Cole in the VP of operations in all those states.
He holds a BAS Degree in Applied Accounting. He manages approximately 200 employees at
various levels of management and labor positions. He is a co-founder and has helped the
corporation expand to different locations and the level it has reached.
1. How do you define yourself? Do you share the perspective that the public has about you?

I am a straightforward person who is obsessed with success, do what I believe in to achieve
goals. I describe myself as a person who is still learning because I have not reached where I

define your responsibilities?
As the VP of operations, my responsibilities are crystal clear, get everyone to do what is
expected and guide how it’s done. Ensure that the three divisions are operating effectively and
attain maximum revenues.
3. How do you view change, how do you handle it as a person in charge of more than 1,000
First of all, change is threatening because it disrupts the status quo, and honestly, everybody
hates change. When we started, we were eight members and its through change is that we have
more than 1000 employees. Therefore, the most important thing is defining the change and
aligning it with the objectives of the organization.
4. How significant are employee relationships to the operations of the organization? How
often do you rely on the feedback from your staff?
As a leader, one thing I value is my relationship with the subordinates because it creates a
pleasant atmosphere within the work environment. With enhanced employee motivation, we
have experienced an increase in productivity. That’s my secret to success. Act on employee
feedback and put in measures that will improve the operations of our three divisions.
5. How do you view the vision of the company? How do your staff express this vision? Do
you think that you followers view you as authentic?
As Company X, we have a clear vision, to be the leading entertainment and mass media
conglomerate in the U.S. We have a hardworking staff that performs to the realization of this
vision. It’s within our culture, to breed success and everyone here is proud to be part of this
