All parents should attend parental classes
Parenting is the process of supporting and guiding the emotional, physical, intellectual,
financial and social development of a child from infancy until the child reaches adulthood.
Parenting classes are special classes where parents are taught general skills on parenting and how
to develop and maintain positive relationships with their children. Parenting is a vital role
because children acquire their abilities to become outstanding adults and citizens from their
parents. Hence, parenting needs to be done in the right way, otherwise the risk of having
damaged children stands. Hence, parenting classes should be compulsory because they give
parents guidance and equip them with the necessary skills to bring up responsible and caring
adults and citizens.
Parenting classes should be made mandatory because they provide parents with skills to
punish their children in a positive manner. There is a saying that goes, spare the rod, spoil the
child hence, discipline is necessary for children to grow up to responsible and caring adults.
However, many parents often face challenges in deciding on what is good and positive
punishment for their children is. Parents learn to help their children manage anger and channel it
into positive reinforcement leading to healthy and happy children. As a result, many parents
