Description
Strategic planning assists an organization in achieving its mission and achievement of its objectives/goals. One method of assessment is a SWOT analysis that can assist in the development of goals/objectives.
For this week you are asked to complete a SWOT analysis on the department/unit where you work. Establish goals/objectives (a minimum of three goals/objectives for each area, strengths, weaknesses, threats, opportunities than you believe are SMART) that will improve patient outcomes, staff retention, and be consistent with the goals/objectives established by your organization.

Introduction
I work in Green Mission Hospital, a healthcare facility that is committed to providing
high-quality healthcare. The facility has been growing over the years through its guiding
principle, as articulated by nurses, that the main propriety is the interests of the patients. The
mission statement of Green Mission Hospital is "to inspire patients by contributing to their
wellbeing through the provision of quality healthcare to every patient and integrating clinical
research, education, and practice." The facility supports a strong work ethic and excellent skills
in practice. As Kc et al. (2020) assert, an environment that nurtures research and education is
essential for a healthcare organization to achieve a competitive advantage. The hospital
understands this, which is why it provides a scholarly environment for education and research to
ensure its employees are up to date in meeting patient demands. For a successful future and to
achieve its goals, the facility prioritizes strategic planning by conducting objective assessments.
A SWOT analysis is one of the assessments the facility uses to understand its internal and
external issues to refresh its strategies and plans to meet its goals. Understanding where the
hospital is today is essential to achieving its future goals.
