The vector v has a magnitude of 10 meters and a direction of 85 degrees. find the magnitude of its vertical and horizontal components.

Given, magnitude of vector = |vector| = 10 meter

Angle of vector with horizontal axis = 85 deg

So,

Magnitude of Horizontal component = |vector| * cos(85) = 10 * 0.08715 = 0.8715 meter

Magnitude of Vertical component = |vector| * cos(90-85) = |vector| * cos(5) = 10 * 0.99619 = 9.9619 meter
