A force F of 27 newtons pulls at an angle of 23 degrees above due east. A force F2 of 33 newtons pulls at an angle of 55 degrees below due west. find the magnitude of the resultant force.

Forces need to be taken as components.

For 27 newton force.

Force due east = 27 cos 23 = x1

Force due north = 27 sin 23 = x2

Force due east = 33 cos 55 = y1

Force due north = 33 sin 55 = y2

Then find the magnitude of it and the direction and you will be sorted.

Force due north = 27 sin 23 = x2 = 10.54

Force due West = 33 cos 55 = y1 = 18.92

Force due South = 33 sin 55 = y2 = 27.05

Clearly resultant will be in,

East = 24.85 - 18.92 = 5.93

South = 27.05 - 10 .54 = 16.51

Resultant 

South East Direction = 17.54
