general form of the ellipse is x^2/a+y^2/b=1

foci is sqrt(a-b)

so in a. we can see that a=49, b=16, a-b=31

so foci is sqrt 31 and -sqrt 31

for b. foci are the x-intercepts, then you can find vertices which is b
