Milgram’s obedience study is one of the most famous and controversial experiments in social psychology.  It is often criticized for the extreme emotional stress inflicted on participants. On the other hand, many argue that Milgram was legitimately trying to answer a burning question: why do men do evil? Milgram’s experiment helps you understand yourself by analyzing what factors influence acts of compliance, resistance, obedience, and overall behavior. While research is crucial to psychology, it is equally as important to conduct ethical and sound research.
