what is the equation of a line passing through the point (-4, 8) that is parrallel to the line y=2x+6 please explain steps

parallel line have the same gradient which is represented by the coefficient of x

in this case 2x...the 2 is the gradient meaning the other equation will have the 2 in the same position

y=2x+6 is the reference line

gradient(slope) is 2

line passes through (-4,8)

solution;

y-8= (2)(x-(-4))

y-8=2x+4

y=2x=12

so what would the answer be? because none of those are the answer choices

y=2x+12
