Ronald Reagan popularly known as the great communicator helped in redefining the
politics of America. He didn’t just talk but rather took action for what he wanted to do for the
nation. He also believed that he had an obligation to conserve the beauty of America and defend
the environment. Reagan previously served as California governor and became the 40th president
of the United States. Reagan however survived an assassination back in 1981 and later died in
2004 after battling with Alzheimer’s disease for ten years. This report will revise the historic
accomplishments and achievements of Reagan as the US president.
In light of the proposal for the Ronald Reagan Memorial, it is fitting to recall some of the
achievements that Ronald Reagan who is one of the greatest president America had. First,
Ronald Reagan ended the Cold War which had raged since World War II. At the time, the quest
of communism towards the world’s domination still threatened the United States. When Reagan
became president of United States, the détente policy was reversed and called the Soviet Union
