Description

Each student will identify an ethical dilemma facing a business in their immediate area and write a research paper. If you can’t find a topic from the metro area, it can be in the state you live in, or Country if you live outside the United States. An example if you live in Tanzania might be “Mining tanzanite – environmental implications”. An example that’s NOT business related (and not appropriate topic): “Is ‘ghosting’ someone while online dating ethical?”. Paper should be 15-20 pp in length, double spaced and submitted in one Word document with clear titles, paragraph structure and proper grammar. Gather information from multiple sources and provide a brief background or summary of the facts. Always cite any paraphrasing and quotes from your textbook, lecture, or other sources. Apply the concepts we’ve studied through Week 6 and the briefing skills you’ve been practicing to identify the ethical issues presented and discuss. Discuss both sides of the issue before reaching a conclusion, and justify your conclusion and how you arrived at that opinion.

As part of that investigation, a court authorized search warrant was executed at the office and residence of a local attorney, Luther Jones. These rule changes would give airlines, subject to applicable Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Department of Transportation (DoT) rules, the choice of whether to enable mobile communications services using an Airborne Access System and, if so, which specific services to enable. The proposed rules would also replace an existing patchwork of regulatory prohibitions on airborne use of mobile services in some, but not all, of the heavily used mobile wireless bands with a consistent regulatory framework that explicitly forbids airborne use of mobile services in those bands unless they are operating on an aircraft equipped with an Airborne Access System. Local Ethical Dilemma/Business Law
El Paso Cheating Scandal
Introduction
There are various issues that may affect the operations of a given business entity
regardless of the geographical location. It has been established that the business factors that may
include both the internal and external environment may have adverse effects and impacts on the
way a given business operates. While considering the internal and external business factors,
issues like the compliance of the business which can either be in terms of ethics and also legal as
well as the overall manner with which the businesses may undertake their jobs determine the
way the business behaves in terms of the overall interactions. Following the various issues that
have been known to affect the operations of a business, it can therefore, be concluded that ethics
in business may play a huge role in ensuring that the given business entity has successfully
undertaken its mandate as well as the set tasks that are inclined towards achieving its set goals
and objectives of operations.
While addressing the issue of ethics and law in the business setting, it is important to note
that there are numerous forms of ethical considerations that a business may need to take into
account. Considering the current world of business, there are numerous ethical issues that have
been known to affect and revolve around the operations of a given business entity which may be
driven by the fact that the overall consideration of the affairs of the outsiders of the business
should always be upheld. It, therefore, can be seen that ethics do not just affect the manner in
which a bu8siness operates but also plays a huge role in shaping the behavior and the overall
considerations as far as the selection of customer affairs as the first priority is concerned.

LOCAL ETHICAL DILEMMA/BUSINESS LAW

Today across the world, there are numerous businesses that have been known to be based
on firm ethical standards. There are various set bodies and organizations that have been put in
place to ensure that the correct forms of business ethics and operational ethics are taken into
account. While ethics may not be governed or driven by the various legal bodies, it has been
established that when a business entity embraces ethical considerations and practices within its
premises, it is capable of ensuring that the overall tasks being undertaken in the given business
are undertaken while following the required procedures and considerations for the affairs of the
other people within the business (Jeurissen, 2007).
Equally, many organizations and business entities across the globe have been known to
be established upon various practices that are not based on ethics. Following this notion, the
practices being undertaken in these business entities are not considerate of the affairs of the other
people who may be affected by the practices. Ethics is based on a given entity being considerate
of the affairs of the neighbor. In case of the business setting, it is important to note that a
business entity may be considerate of the affairs of the employees and also the surrounding
environment which may make it possible for it to thrive well in terms of profits and annual
returns. On the other hand, a given business entity that is not considerate of the affairs of the
employees or even the external environment may not witness huge or the desired returns in terms
of profits (Sternberg, 2000). This paper is based on the notion that businesses should always
ensure that they have exhibited the highest levels of ethical considerations that may go a long
way in ensuring that the affairs of the business have been undertaken following the right and the
accepted methods universally regardless of being required by law or not.
