After winning in Texas State Senate
When I win the elections, and become the Senator of Texas State I will ensure I deliver good
governance to the people of Texas. I will do this through active involvement in development of
beneficial policies both in the Federal government and local government. In this paper, I will be
discussing how I will run Texas State senate when I win the senatorial seat.
If elected, I will be actively involved in three committees to effectively govern the peoples
of Texas. Firstly, I will be involved in the committee that stands for government transparency and
operation. The committee will have authority over matters to deal with management of state
departments, transparency on government matters, advances in science and technology, cyber
security, and promotion of cooperation between state and local government entity (McKee, Teigen
et al, 2006). This is mainly because Texas does not currently have a successful model for economic
growth and the best way to tackle this begins with elimination of inefficiencies in the provision of
state services. Also, ensuring that there is corporation between state and local government entities,
will ensure that grievances are countered efficiently and effectively. Promotion of cyber security
will ensure that records are safe from unauthorized people and thus, promote overall privacy of
Texas State.
I will also be involved in the committee which has the authority on issues of international
trade and other trade related affairs. The committee will be looking at issues regarding the
relationship between the state of Texas and the Federal government, relationship between Texas
State and other states in the US, International commerce and trade and providing public service to
people residing close to Texas international border (Keller, Springer et al, 2009). With the
knowledge that I have of how unique Texas geographic and demographic characteristics have had
on its economic growth, I will focus on promoting trade relations between my state and other states
in the US and internationally. Texas borders encourages trade and immigration which fuels
population and job growth. The rise in population growth also led to job growth which resulted to
the state’s economic growth. This aspect will inform how I develop trade policies that will heavily
rely on the population and the job growth that will push the state’s economy in the international
market.
The third committee that I will be involved in is on energy resources, that have authority on
matters pertaining to conservation of energy resources of Texas, regulations on production,
transportation, and development of energy resources, increasing energy efficiency and regulation
on mineral rights. Texas economic growth has mainly been driven by oil prices, and it’s still the
largest producer of oil and gas in US. Due to this factor, I will mainly focus on ensuring regulations
put into place are considerate and beneficial to the Texas people. Also, there is need for better
environmental conservation policies that will enable Texas people to benefit from the energy
resources and at the same time preserve their environment. I will ensure this is enabled through
sufficient coordination between the Federal government and Texas State.
When elected, I will act as a link between Texas citizens and the Federal government which
often is a faceless entity. This kind of services are usually termed as caseworks, my team and I
will put considerable amount of time in dealing with these services to the citizens. I will also be
an exemplary representation of my state in the federal government, stating Texas citizen’s interests
together with national interests (Champagne, 1988). My team and I will also carry out social
awareness activities in creating knowledge on the bills affecting Texas citizens and how to deal
with such issues. I will also promote local business interests to my constituents that will spearhead
the economic growth in my constituent. My team and I will also intercede with any regulatory
agencies that propose regulations that my constituents do not agree with.
I will integrate homely and interactive social activities between my constituents and their
legislators, so that the bureaucratic relationship is broken and promote a friendly relationship
across the board. This empowers my constituents to have an easy approach to their legislators and
increase the efficiency and effectiveness in service delivery. Also, like the previous Senators, the
use of social media platforms has created a good interaction base that constituents can use to
effectively air their grievances. Through this platform they can also be aware of the ongoing
activities in the entire State and contribute positively to these projects (Holley & Spencer, 1999).
I will also integrate other avenues, such as twitter, interactive websites and school and outdoor
activities that will build on promoting a friendly and interactive atmosphere.
I will be running for Texas Senate District 10, which is currently being run by Senator
Burton. She is passionate about personal responsibility, individual liberty, and free market
economies. The core functions of her state government for the tax payer’s dollars is public
education, transportation, water infrastructure and public safety. Although she has set the bar too
high I believe that my contributions to this district will have a better impact to its social, economic,
and political development.
In conclusion, I believe that I will make the best candidate for Texas Senate District 10 since
I have a great background knowledge on the needs of my constituents than any other contestant.
My vision for this District ranges from economic growth to social cohesion and integration among
the Texas citizens. If elected, I will endeavor to drive Texas economy to the frontline in the US
and ensure my constituents benefit from the energy resources in the State. International trade will
be my center focus since Texas has borders that could drive efficient cross border trade
transcending to the international markets.

Running for Texas state senate
State senate refers to the upper house in the bicameral legislature of fifty U.S states and
senator are referred as the members of these house. And I am preparing to run as one of the
competitor for Texas state senate in district number 10. At this time current member in Texas
state senate of district 10 is Konni Burton. She was elected in 2015 as the senator and since
then she was fulfilling her duty as a state senate member.
As my plan is to run for state senate it’s my duty to do analysis and research in different aspects
and areas of my district. So, with the help of the research I have found about the whole district
profile of district 10. Through this analyzation process I found out about the population,
education, employment, households, income, and many other things about this district.
The analysis shows that in this this district there is one county which is Tarrant county and have
89 precincts. According to ACS 2010-2014 the estimated total population of this district is
861,317. In this total population the population of age group from 0 to 4 years is 63,310, 5 to 17
years is 171,415, 18 to 64 years is 533,028 and from 65 years over 93,564. So, most of the
people living in district 10 is from 18 to 64 years age group which is 61.9 percentage of the total
population of this district. According to the census the people living here Anglo American and
the remaining are either black or Hispanic. Mostly the people living here speaks only English
language. The majority of people speaking English is 71.4% which is very huge. Also, the are
people who speaks other language in their house only and speaks English outside is 28.6% of
the total population. Also, there are people who doesn’t speak English well or can’t speak any.
In recent years there is increasing of people moving here.
In addition, the number of households in this district is 300,576 with 2.82 as average number of
person per household. Mostly the number of person living per household is either 2 people or
3-4 person per household which is mainly the household with families. About the education this
analysis shows that most of population of the district is enrolled elementary, middle, or high
school. Since district 10 does not have many colleges and universities the population on higher
school or college level is low. Only 24.8 % of total population is on college or graduate level. The
citizen here are employed from the age of 16 and the population works here is 393,450 out of
total population. Mostly the people here works on private sector which 81.7% and the
remaining works on like construction, real state, wholesale trade and on many other fields.
Most of the people used private vehicles as a means of transportation which is about 93
percent of the population.
Talking about the income the per capita income in this district is pretty high. The people living
in poverty here is only 17.9 percent of the total population. The average annual household
income here is $25000-$99000. Most of the households own their own housing, 58.7% of
housing is owner occupied and remaining of them is rent occupied. Mostly the owner-occupied
housing are the costly ones in the range of #100,000-$199,999 and as for the rent occupied
housing the average cost is $750-$999. In both of housing the available number of vehicle is
one or more. As for the owner-occupied house hold the monthly owner cost as a percentage of
household income is 35 percent of the income and this is also same for the rental households.
The issues arise based upon the district’s demographics are most probably the development of
education infrastructure and employment problems. As for education there were not much
colleges and universities as in comparison to middle and high schools. There must be
development of more school and colleges. Also, most of the citizens left their studies after high
school graduate or some college degree, and it results in people not having higher education
standard and positions. Because of this it effects on employment sector and there are people
working only private sector employment in this district. Also, there are issues on road
construction that has to be settled.
In conclusion, running for state senate is a great thing to do. It helps to develop your district
where you are elected as senator. With the analysis above done I get to know about the
population, education, employment, and different things about the district I was living. It would
help me through my campaign for state senate election. Because of this I get to know the
different things about my district.

My Platform, and Party Politics
Political typology results screenshots.
Political party results screenshots
The results from political typology explore government performance in relation to
their outlined duties. Government is expected to safeguard the environment by all means in
order to protect and create a conducive environment. Privacy and policy of foreigners to be
addressed in the right way ensuring equal rights for both the blacks and white. In political
party results, discrimination is discouraged based on religion, race and gender. A country
should treat all people fairly allowing democracy.
Texas Democratic Party is a good platform as it tries to achieve social justice for all
people regardless of the gender, race, socioeconomic status, religion or democracy. Texas
Democratic Party also focuses on a health care for all citizens. The government should ensure
that every individual has right to vote with enough freedom and participation in national
activities which affect them. Texas democratic is more oriented in promoting equal
opportunities for higher education learning for all citizens. According to Texas Republican
Party, elected leaders have a duty in ensuring the population of America is well educated and
parents have the freedom to choose learning center for their children. Leaders who are elected
should display high levels of integrity and uphold the truth. The Texas limit the government
to items which are outlined in the Texas and the American constitution. It also believes that,
the government has a duty to protect the life of citizens because all people were created by
God. Human rights should be given priority because God endorsed these rights and
responsibilities to a human being. Texas Republican has many limitations in the deliverance
of service to citizens and this may affect efficient working. Support for Texas democratic
should be given credit because it promotes fairness and social justice. Texas Republican is
tied to American constitution and items in the Texas and this affect it’s efficient and
effective. After winning the elected, candidate-elect does not take responsibilities of office
before he or she is sworn in. The district must have address containing a standardized
address, city, zip code and county. Before swearing in takes place, a district representative
“who represents me” continues to provide important information about the new district.

The Campaign
Lots of citizens would wish to run for a government seat and do a better job there than the
elected officials. However, running for an office is an enormously, complicated, and expensive
endeavor that usually appears unattainable to anyone who already is not in the political inner
circle. This is because the endeavor requires careful attention to details, rigorous schedule and
many volunteers that seems to have hope in you. Sometimes money is a determinant of one's
victory in the seat of government (Essig, Bhandari& Mccullough 2017). However, a report given
concerning the presidential campaign that took place last year showed that Donald Trump had
spent half of what Hillary Clinton spent and fortunately he did manage to win the White House.
In the paper, I will explore the amount I require in running for Texas state senate for district 10,
how to raise the money and the interest groups that will oppose and support me.
The cost of running for an office in Texas will depend on various variables. One of them
is the office one is interested in, the strategy of the campaign and the support volume of the
financial welfare of the concerned party. Primarily, it looks at the amount a candidate fundraises,
the amount being spent by the candidate, and most essentially the number of votes a candidate
receives. However, there are some other external factors that are not within the candidate's
authority and may not impact the cost of legal provisions together with circumstances of
prevailing economics. Often, statewide campaigns are usually based on cost-per-vote (Essig,
Bhandari, & Mccullough, 2017). The most important are that candidates who are in races and are
detained in smaller districts and electorates can quickly run up the cost-per-vote tab. At times,
money does not have to make a difference in the outcome based on the amount a candidate is
spending. Of late, most expensive campaigns have been conducted by individuals we have never
heard of and most of them end up failing. Sometimes it is just going to the general election
contest with a better name that is recognizable or even having the right party affiliations for that
district which as a result can make you top the list without spending much money.
The Campaign Finance Board (CFB) is a system in Texas that makes it a viable
possibility for the most aspiring candidates by linking private financial contributions to the
public making it easy for the running candidates. With a small contribution of $25k, a report
indicated that one can get over $90k so long as one satisfies the requirement of CFB. This means
that if one raises around $25k, then one can be able to competitively outstand the virtual
candidate in the race for city council even though they might out-fundraise you (Pehme, 2016).
However, for a higher seat level like that of Senate, it requires one to have collected more than
$250K as a minimum to outstand the other candidates in the race. I can, therefore, say that, if one
cannot reach such a monetary threshold, the odds may critically increase against your candidacy.
Supreme Court is the one that favors the funding of the political campaigns by
corporations and labor unions. However, it is unlawful if these organizations directly contribute
these funds. As a result, this must be stored in mind to avoid any illegalities that can hurt
campaign objectives.
Exploratory committee meeting can be used in raising the money for the campaign. Since
one is not going to run the office dependently, one must heavily rely on the surrounding people.
These people in the committee must control and contribute to the decisions of the campaign
(Maestas, & Rugeley, 2015). They are the one to come up with the available ideas to support the
run of the campaign. Significantly, this person should be the people that have participated in the
politics before as they will know the way to go when things become a challenge. The candidate
can also make a list of people he knows and thinks including friends and relatives that can offer a
support with a specific amount of money. A confirmation letter should, therefore, be sent right
away to the donors to remind them hence receives the target money for the project. Fundraising
can also be done to various individuals as people are likely to give more when they are asked
than when they are not. A fundraising team should be formed, and this should include people that
believe deeply in the campaign and have an extensive network so as they can carry the project
campaign to the next level of high capital for the campaign.
One's campaign may get supported or opposed by different groups depending on their
agenda and manifestos. A high likelihood is likely to occur that some institutions may support a
candidate that proposes policy and legislation which don't line up with the prospects of the
groups. Also, it is unlikely that an organization will go against policies that are favorable.
Movement of civil rights such as Texas NAACP is likely to support a campaign that enforces
civil liberties (Pehme, 2016). Likewise, Texas patriots are likely to oppose the movement in
reducing taxes since they may comprise many tax beneficiaries. My slogan and loyalty for the
seat of Senate in district 10 it is for the Texas people to support and rule them by taking them to
the next level of development. Most likely, I will seek endorsement from the family of Kenny
Rodgers.

Presenting Myself as a Candidate
Running for a political office is one of the most significant tasks that one should not take
lightly and one should be ready to battle the differences that come with the fellow candidates that
are still running for the same position. It is also critical that you develop a convincing way of talk
whenever you are giving a speech in the search for the citizen votes. One must come up with
ideas that will not only convince the voters but one that is realistic and attainable to buy the trust
of the voters. It is essential to realize the words that you use in your manifesto and your slogan
depends so much when it comes to convincing the citizens of your state.
In my case, I will be presenting the candidate in the Texas state senate in the district ten
which is also a challenge and requires a lot of energy to pursue the challenges and hence emerge
the winner. The choice to run for this office has been as a result of poor governance from the
previous leadership, and this gives me a chance and opportunity to convince the area citizen to
Insert Surname 2
vote me to the office. In that case, it is of great importance that I come up with a better slogan
and manifesto that will convince the area citizen to stand with me. A tagline should be one that
will satisfy the voters of my trust, honesty and the ability to bring change and improve most of
the performances in the region (Maisel & Louis Sandy, 2016). In my case now that I am a new
candidate in the office I must convince them that the new leadership will stand for the right of
the people and that will bring positive change. In that case, the slogan for my candidature would
be “New vision. New direction”.
As a candidate for the Texas Senate District 10 office, it is of great importance to come
up with an excellent and convincing stump speech that will allow for trust, respect and that
which portrays honesty leadership to garn as many votes as possible that will make me the
winner in the election. The stump speech will, therefore, be as shown below.
Thank you, CITY. In every election we conduct we make a choice. Looking at this year,
the option did not seem to be clear. Not only the choice between personalities or parties but is a
choice between philosophies. At some times we look at our state and just say we know it requires
to grow our economy and that what it can be done to make our communities more secure? We
know that what it is necessary to make our education affordable and to make our retirement more
secure.
We already know what is required to be done in our society. The time I will put my hand
on the very Bible, and the judge swears me as your next senator, in the very moment I will give
you a new oath; we are now going to change to work.
Insert Surname 3
When you listen to our opponents and then hear a different chorus, just listen to all that
they will talk about freedom, liberty and the power of leadership getting your way and you will
understand it is one thing over and over again. It shows how powerless we are in front of our
problems. Nothing they can offer.
Lastly, in this election, you got the choice between the party, yes, that leadership that will
get into the office and proves to do nothing. On the other hand, you got us who look at Texas and
believe that is very exceptional though we all understand it is not perfect and seeking to make it
more perfect and a better place to be. In that case, if you want the problem within us fixed, there
is an easy way, elect me. Thank you, and may God bless Texas.
For the candidates seeking for political offices mainly look out to endorsements from
other political or even civic groups and individuals that are seen to influence within the
community. Though many views about approvals, it is true that they of great importance and that
is why politicians even in the present rely on them. In choosing the endorsement preferences,
there are some factors to consider which the most important would be the audience. The
audience in political matters will be the voters, financial contributors, and the volunteers. In
choosing of the newspaper or either a musician it is important to consider a channel that will
reach the biggest audience within Texas.
To get more votes will be of more importance that I identify the political group that
provides the highest number of votes on the ballot. In any community, always it is understood
that the youths got the energy to do higher than any other age group. The teenagers are also
potential to reach to other voters within the region. Considering the majority of voters in the area

are Democrats it will be to my advantage to identify myself with the same party (Roy, Jason, and
Christopher Alcantara, 2015).
