Courts, Prosecution, and Defense
The USA court system is divided into a federal system and state system. Each of the
systems is divided into trial courts, intermediate appellate courts, and the final appellate
courts. Looking at the Federal court system, the District Courts act as the trial courts, the
Court of Appeals acts as the intermediate appellate court and finally the final appellate court
is the Federal Supreme Court. In the state system, the judicial powers are held by various
courts established by the state constitution (Dervort, 2000). There are many district courts
and administrative tribunals that exist within the state and each has a separate jurisdiction.
The role, functions and the processes of a court of law
A court is a part of a country's judicial system of any country; it is considered as an
institution that is set up by the government to settle disputes by following a legal process. The
citizens of a country seek the help of courts in solving their disagreements and the court is
given the responsibility of deciding what should happen to resolve the issue permanently. A
court is also tasked with deciding if a person is guilty or not and if they are guilty, what kind
