The American freedom came about from a series of events. The prejudices needs for
rights, recognition, and sovereignty in the light of association with the vast British Empire. In the
historical times, Britain was known for its military prowess that assisted it in taking over
colonies to form part of the British Empire. Some factors can explain the migration of British
citizens to America. The great plague in Ireland caused many deaths. The surviving Irish people
who survived the great potato plague some immigrated to America to start a new life. There was
the promise of immense quantities of land in addition to freedom from religious persecution.
The early settlers in the America found other nationalities: the Spanish, the French and
the Dutch who were explorers. The British joined the party late. To get a foothold in the
Americans, it had to fight the French and dislodge it from territories it controlled. The great
Britain-France war of 7 years consumed resources and left Britain in debt estimated at British
pounds 150 million. The debt was a massive problem for the British Empire. To pay debts to the
Bank of England, the Aristocrats and the ruling class that supported the war taxes were to be
levied. The presence of colonies in the British Empire appeared to the British parliament as a
possible solution to the debt problem. Levying taxes on the colonies was being resisted since
they didn’t feel part of Britain. Why didn’t they feel part of Britain? First, there was no
representation in the British parliament. Secondly, with their new found freedom they wanted to
manage and rule themselves. Thirdly, the colonists wanted to enac...
