The Coca-Cola Company is the world's largest manufacturer and distributor of soft
drinks. It has been established in more than 200 countries in the world making it one of the
most recognizable brands in the world known by approximately 95% of the people in the
word. Coca-Cola was recognized by Forbes as the fourth most valuable brands in the entire
world (Warkentin, 2014).
How Coca-Cola Company uses people, information, and information technology to
become more competitive
With over 700,000 associates, Coca-Cola encourages each of them to contribute their
ideas and talents in all their daily responsibilities so as to help the company achieve the goals
it has outlined in its vision. The company ensures that their employees are treated fairly and
are happy so as to become better ambassadors of the brand in every region they work in.
There is diversity in the work environment and the people hired are qualified and highperforming individuals who help in increasing the competitiveness of the company

Analyses of the Coca-Cola Competition Using the Porter's Five Forces Model
The Porter's Five Forces Model offers tools of quantitative analysis that can be used
to analyze the competition Coca-Cola faces in the market for beverages. To begin with, we
look at the rivals in the market. The biggest rival for Coca-Cola currently is Pepsi and this
competition has existed since the 19h century. The two companies almost share similar
ingredients in their products and their non-soda interests are also the same with both
diversifying to bottled water and juice. The other rival is Dr. Pepper Snapple Group,
however, it does not have the competitive advantage of popularity enjoyed by Coca-Cola
(Kasi, 2017).
There is the possibility of the company encountering threats of a new entree into the
market. Looking at how the population is moving toward healthy options, there is a
possibility of new entrants that can create the market fragmentation and eventually hurt the
bottom line of the company. There is also the availability of close substitutes to the CocaCola in the market (Kasi, 2017). There is the threat of the customers preferring to have
freshly made fresh juices in place of the bottled beverages from Coca-Cola.
