Description

All organizations are targets of hackers, it just depended on how soft the target is and how determined the individual. Sifers-Grayson is no exception, it’s subject to security threats regardless if it’s at the R&D Center or at the testing range. Hackers can gain access to the network and manipulate test data at any part of the information cycle. This is primarily due to the cellular phone communication with the R&D Center and digital signals between test vehicles that can be compromised. Other broadband connection also exists at the testing range between cellular phones, cameras and other command and control devices which can be compromised by information loss, malware infection and theft of the transmission.

The purpose of Operational Security (OPSEC) is to provide the organization an information security system that primary function is to analyze possible threats, analyze possible vulnerabilities, identify the critical information that needs to be protected, identify what are the risks to the network, and lastly apply countermeasures to them. Practicing good OPSEC needs to take into consideration what operations are being carried out on the test range. Knowing what types of operations and ensuring the correct classifications are utilized will ensure that unauthorized individuals don’t get access to sensitive information. A failure of OPSEC to ensure information security could lead to corrupted data and inconsistent results.

The goal of OPSEC, is to ensure that adversaries are unable to gain information that could affect the testing results at the testing sites. Good OPSEC will provide a layer of protection to Sifers-Grayson’s sensitive information. By keeping strict OPSEC, Sifers-Grayson can ensure that advisories are unable to gain an advantage by stealing our results and using them for their own gain. in that even personal gadgets can be monitored and all activities that employees perform using their own gadgets. Loss of research data can be disastrous to Sifers-Grayson, something that a good OPSEC plan will prevent

I Concur with what you wrote and also you need to understand that Sifers Grayson is an
organization based in the United States and it is hereditary, meaning its leadership is passed on
from generation to generation since it is a family-owned business. The organization receives
contracts from various clients, for instance, the federal government of the United States, for
instance, military commanders, senior leaders in the government. The organization is a
consultative firm, and most of the jobs it gets deals with engineering. For instance, projects to
deal with drones, development of various software and source codes. I agree that due to this
reason, most hackers would be interested in interfering with the operation of suc...
