Creativity, Innovation and a Growth Mindset
Project
Prior to beginning work on this assignment, read Chapter 6: Creative Productivity
Across the Lifespan and Chapter 8: Creative Articulation in the Plucker (2017) text, and
review the Instructor Guidances for the course.
Over the past five weeks, you have formulated a personal philosophy of creativity and
innovation and developed your own innovation toolbox. For your Final Project you will
demonstrate what you have learned about creativity and innovation as it applies to a
current or future area of interest in either your personal or professional life. The purpose
of this assignment is to defend the importance of creativity and innovation in the 21st
century.
For your Final Project, you will create an inspirational presentation in the format of your
choice accompanied by a written transcript of the presented material. You may choose
from a variety of formats for your presentation. For example, you may submit a
PowerPoint presentation with embedded audio narration or create a YouSeeU video
with a transcript. If you choose to submit a YouSeeU video, you can submit your
YouSeeU video HERE and submit your transcript through Waypoint. You may also
choose to present your ideas via another format with instructor approval. Creativity and
innovation are encouraged! Additionally, you are encouraged to reexamine the ideas
presented in the Collaborative Commons shared space and to use the word cloud you
created in Week 1 of class to enhance the visual appeal of your presentation.
Your final step is to include this Final Project in your Portfolium account, which
demonstrates your understanding of creativity and innovation in your chosen area of
interest to employers, colleagues, friends, family members, and others. This Final
Project will be a required artifact incorporated in the HON490: Honors College Seminar
course.
