Description

Hello,

THIS IS AN IMPORTANT PROJECT!

I NEED 3 THINGS:

  • Outline (1 ½ Pages)
  • PowerPoint Presentation (15 min presentation)
  • Annotated Bibliography (12 Source Min)

The topic of this presentation is to argue that in order to increase voter turnout, online voting should be offered as an alternative way to cast ballots.

  • OUTLINE:
  • PowerPoint Presentation
  • -This must be a 1-½ detail page out line. There must be an intro , like why is voting important) ( why do people don’t vote?) After the intro, I should be able to go straight into the argument)
  • -Must address counterarguments (reasons against online voting )
  • -Must be persuasive as if convincing random stranger

-must include visual aids (statistics, charts, pictures)

-4-5 slides

Annotated Bibliography

-12 sources( very minimal summary, more on why this research was important to my argument)

I will attach 8 sources and will need 4 more relating to the subject

(must be scholarly)

This presentation must be a power point, it has to be at least 15 mins long.

This source was addressing the accessibility of internet voting in promotion and
encouragement of the people in Arizona to exercise their democratic rights. The article was
relevant to my project because it contained useful information regarding online voting. According
to the article, the turn out following the introduction of the internet voting is high. The article
inspired my argument for the need to introduce online voting system as an alternate to the usual
ballot systems.

Economics (JITE) / Zeitschrift Für Die Gesamte Staatswissenschaft, 156(4), 531-547.

In this article, Börgers tries to address the question on whether using the internet in voting
is a good thing. The article was found useful because it addressed the issue of cost of voting in
relationship to the voters’ turnpout. He describes that high turnout is likely to result because using
internet increases the efficiency in terms of costs reduction both for the government and the people
participating in the voting exercise. As a result, the article was also found useful in supporting the
need for using the internet in voting system as a way of increasing the turnout of the voters.

In this article, ALEXANDER H. addresses casting of votes in Switzerland as well as the
future of the electoral system in the country. Switzerland is pilot testing the use of internet in
voting. The country further investigating and testing any issues that could result from the internet
voting so that appropriate measures can be taken before it is implemented. This article was
resourceful in my paper because it provides argument on both sides regarding online voting using
the case of Switzerland. The internet system of voting will likely increase the turnout of voters
once implemented in the future.

States. American Journal of Political Science, 34(3), 771-802. doi:10.2307/2111398
In this article, Bennett addresses the implications of failing to vote in the democracy of the
United States. He tries to answer the questions of where failure to vote poses a threat to the
democracy of the United States and whether failure to vote results to skewing of the public policies.
Indeed, he finds out that even though democracy may not be affected much by the failure to
participate in the voting system, some skews may arise from some domestic issues particularly the
ones that deal with the...
