The variables a, b, c, are represented by a different whole number. Given that c= 2, use the properties to determine the values of a a and b.

a x b = b a=

a - a = b b=

a + c = 5 c=

a = 10 - 2 = 8

a = 8

a - a = 0

So b = 0

take a + c = 5 c= as an example. if c is 2 then you substitute in the equation to get a+2=5x2 meaning a=10-2 which is 8.

if a is 8, then 8-8 = bb

meaning b is 0
