The principal function of a philosophy is to explore the attitude, morals, and opinions that
people have towards their work and activities. A close analysis of my working experience
demonstrates some of the values concerning the nursing profession. In my philosophy, I believe
that it is best practice to give patients quality of care regardless of their status, background or
gender. I certainly believe that patients deserve an environment that promotes both physical and
emotional wellbeing. Patient’s information ought to be kept confidential, and the nurse should at
all times seek the consent of the patient before revealing sensitive information (Leider et al,
2017).
I recognize that education is a vital aspect in aiding the patients to manage their health
conditions. The embracement of evidence-based practices is essential since it helps in improving
the patients’ outcome I believe. In my view, establishing a substantial relationship with the client
and their family members is core to understanding the patient’s needs and preferences.
Correspondingly, I presume that nurses should engage themselves in creative activities to
enhance quality of care.
I have embraced the use of various standards in enhancing my philosophy. One of the
measures that I have deployed, is the evidence-based practice. According to the evidence-based
