how much energy is released when 55.0g of water vapor at 100C cools to body temperature (37.0C)

Amount of heat released by water is given by the formula: Q = m*c*t, where m is mass, c is specific heat capacity of water, and t is change in temperature.

m = 55.0 grams = 0.055 kg

c = 4200 Jkg-1K-1

change in T =  (100 + 273)K - (37+ 273) K = 63 K

So Q = (0.055*4200 x 63) J

= 14553 J or 14.553 Kj.

NB:

1 KJ = 1000 J.
