A company needs to make 40.6 km of cable for customer. The machine making the cable can create 4.7 km of cable per hour. Where the company is working on the cable the customer add 6 km to the order please give me an equation on how I would solve this problem

May 6th, 2015

The total order is 40,6+6, let's call x the total number of hours required to make all the cable, you can write that :

x = (40,6+6)/4,7=9,91 hours = 9 hours + 0,91 hour = 9 hours + 0,91*60 mn = 9h55 mn

It's the same question that this one, you have 46,6 km to do running and your speed is 4,7 km per hour, how much time do you need to do it.

Please rate my answer. I will appreciate. Thanks.

I needed a problem to solve it like 40.6 x + 6= 4.7

so it's (40,6+6)=4,7 * x

5000+375=17,5 * x
