ECOLOGICAL SERVICES
The concept of ecological services is the support for a healthy economy through
supporting services such as water and nutrient cycling. The provisioning services in the
ecological services also support the healthy economy where products such as food, fuel, and
fresh water can be obtained. Further still, regulating and cultural services are considered where
regulatory processes such as erosion regulation, climate, water, and air quality are also regulated.
In the cultural services, non-material benefits such as recreation and tourism, cultural heritage
and aesthetics among others are obtained (Fisher, et al., 2009).
From the mini-lecture, the most important service is the supporting ecological service
