1. What happened to the Union’s economy after the southern states seceded from the Union?


A. Since most of industry was located within the Southern states, the North was economy was negatively affected.


B. The Northern economy was not threatened because of the secession of the southern states.


C. The economy collapsed after the South left the Union because both economies were intertwined and dependent upon one another.


D. The North was unchanged but the Southern states flourished.
