Sam decides to paint the outside of a cylindrical tank. Sam has one cylindrical tank (Tank A) that has a diameter of 8 feet and a height of 9 feet 6 inches. He also has a cylindrical tank (Tank B) that has a radius of 3 feet and a height of 10 feet 3 inches. Assuming that he paints the bottom, but the tanks have no tops, which tank will need the most paint?

A=2πrh+πr2

Tank A= (2*3.14*4*9.5) + (3.14*4*4)=238.64+50.24= 288.88

Tank  B= (2*3.14*3*10.25) +(3.14*3*3)= 193.11+28.26= 221.37

Tank A will need the most paint because the surface area is more than Tank B
