Pick a person to interview who has had a different cultural experience than you. Maybe the person or person’s family is from a different region or country. Other forms of diversity or difference are acceptable too. You may interview someone of any age, and it is OK if he or she is a co-worker, neighbor, friend, relative, spouse, or someone else you know. However, please keep in mind the spirit of the assignment. If you are interviewing someone you know well, please work hard in the interview to gain a deeper insight and appreciation for their experience. Please conduct the interview face-to-face, through Skype/Face Time, or over the phone. The interview should be a minimum of 20 minutes long. Please take notes during the interview. If the interviewee gives you permission, you can record the interview to help you later when writing your assignment. It is not required to record or video tape the interview. You will not be turning in any recordings. You will be turning in a written assignment based on your interview. Written Assignment Overview: Write a two-page essay about your interview experience. Your essay should include an introduction of your interviewee, summary of the interview answers in essay format, discussion of how the interview content relates to course concepts, and a final section with some concluding thoughts about the interview experience. Agudelo NEWI do think companies in the U.S. should be able to outsource to other countries. Not only are we benefiting our own country by doing this, but we are also helping their country. When we outsource not only are we stabilizing their countries, but we are also saving costs on production. One company we have that outsources to India is Microsoft. Microsoft is one of America's biggest companies in the IT industry, generating roughly $61.27 billion U.S. dollars in 2021. (Liu, S. (2021, July 28). They can make this amount of money by cutting costs outsourcing to other countries, which allow us to hire them for cheap labor. Where some may see we are taking advantage of a peripheral nation, I do not see it that way. It is a win-win for both countries we get to save money, and we are helping their country by offering employment. Microsoft offers employment to approximately 124,000 people in India allowing them to earn money that can then be recycled into their economy. (Bort, J. (2013, May 6). Not only does this help their citizens gain employment, but this also helps their overall economy allowing them to slowly stabilize. Outsourcing benefits Americans because not only does it lower the cost to make things, but it also helps our economy. Since we get to outsource for different companies Americans benefit in many ways they do not even know about. They get the new Microsoft laptop at a cheaper price, then it would be if it was made in the United States, so they get goods at a cheaper price.The dynamics between core, semi-peripheral and peripheral countries all coincide together. Core nations are independent, they do not need any other country to be able to survive on its own. Their economy will not fall or falter, just because one nation does not want to work with them. However, some people like to say that core nations exploit other countries. These powerhouses know that they can use these other countries for their gain, whether it is cheap labor or cheap materials and these countries have no say. Semi-peripheral countries were recently unstable, but are now stable these countries are not at the bottom of the food chains when it comes to economic stature among other countries. They are not fully dependent on core nations when it comes to economic stability, however, they do still need a small portion to stay stable. When it comes to these countries they have more of a say of what will, and will not happen but are still not fully in charge. Whereas periphery nations essentially get bullied they are fully dependent on other nations for economic stability. Without these other nations, their economy would crumble, and it would put their whole country in shambles they would have no way to recover from a crisis. They would not be able to take care of themselves they rely on other countries to trade, and. deal with them.
