Over the years, public elected officials have consistently taken part in bad behavior which
has made them lose their leadership positions, pay huge fines and in some cases risk being taken
to prison. Whether in the Presidency, Congress, there are people elected to serve in the interests
of all citizens according to the ethics in the public sector. The state puts down several key
principles that every persons working in the public sector must comply with. For example, no
employee should use the public office for personal interest and all employees shall not
intentionally make commitments or promises that are not authorized with the aim of binding the
Government. One member of the Congress who has been charged with violation of ethics is
Charles Rangel who is a renowned member of the House of Representatives who has served in
the public servitude for not less than forty years (Sevilla, 2017). Charles Rangel was in the year
2010 accused of eleven counts of ethics violations. Some of the violations included not giving
reports on rental income as well as inappropriate use of a rent alleviated building and receiving
