A species of animal is discovered on an island. Suppose that the population size 
 of the species can be modeled by the following exponential function, where time 
 is measured in years.
Find the initial population size of the species and the population size after 
 years. 

Round your answers to the nearest whole number as necessary.

As I understand the formula is

P(t) = 280+16*e^(-0.45*t).

The initial population size is P(0)=280+16*1=296.

After 10 years is P(10)=280+16*e^(-4.5)=280.177... approx =280.

The formula I guessed seems strange... please respond. Maybe "*" instead of "+"?
