During the reign of emperor Justinian and his wife Theodora, there was an extensive expansion of the territory due to a lot of military success. He recovered the regions lost to the foreign invaders. This forced him to establish the most aggressive military program of all times. This strengthened the political stand of Byzantine.

Also, there was a new synthesis of Greco-Roman and Christian culture introduced in the whole of Byzantine contributing to the social life of his people. This is because he took a leading responsibility in shaping the church policy.

There was also the paralleling of the conquest and territorial organization that reformed taxation and legislation issues. This helped improve its Economic stand and more so due to its political stability.
