The Jews always want to take their land back and a lot of them already moved to Palestine before WW I, the Brits saw this as an oppturnity to helpthe Jews in exchange for their money and support, they could also get rid of the Jews from Europe. They promised to help the Arabs as well but the conflicts had never stopped because many of them don't accept Zionism, so revolt happened.

Foch thought that Germany lost the war, but it didn't lose all its strength. He always supported France to fully cut Rhineland from Germany and harsher deal on Ruhr to assure that Germany would not have the industrial strength to start another war for a long while. Since this was not granted as well, he was sure that after 20 years, Germany would recover from its loss and it would not forget its loss today, war would start again.
