Explanation & Answer

Attached.

Grant writing is the application process wherein the organization seeking financial assistance
explains what it plans to do, how much money it needs to do it and how the results will be
measured. Grant writing refers to the practice of completing an application process for funding
provided by an institution such as a government department, corporation, foundation or trust.
Such application processes are often referred to as either grant "proposals" or "submissions."
Successful grant writing requires a clear understanding of grantsmanship. While the principles
and fundamentals of grantsmanship apply broadly, it is important to know the target and to be
able to tune the language appropriately.
Block grant
Block grant is a large sum of money granted by the national government to a regional
government with only general provisions as to the way it is to be spent. Generally, block grants
are given for a broad purpose for example, community development and energy efficiency
Advantages
One of the main advantages of block grants is that they allow local governments to choose
which programs in their community to fund. Often these governments are better able to identify
where the money should be spent than the federal government.

Disadvantages

One of the main disadvantages of block grants is that the federal government usually
does not provide much oversight into how the money is spent. So, local governments
may use the money ineffectively; but because the money is allocated according to a
formula, they will not be held accountable for failures.

Also, some communities with fewer resources may not be able to field as compelling
an application for the grants as wealthier communities.

Employment grant
This is a grant that is offered by the department of employment to organisations or individuals
to support the government agenda to create more jobs and increase productivity.

Advantages

Those who receive government grants find it easier to raise money from other
government and private sources.

This money is absolutely free and it does not need to be refunded.

The money is used to create employment and improving the people lives.

Disadvantages.

As much as the money is free it is not easy to get the money.

A lot of time is wasted while waiting for the money.

The competition is very high.
