The Crime Stoppers of Columbus, Georgia

is a non-profit organization in which is beneficial to all law

enforcement agencies in Muscogee County. This organization takes

anonymous calls and tips on current, past, or old cases and crimes. The

Crime Stopper organization rely heavily on the community’s involvement

and cooperation. This organization obtains information from the

community in which assist law enforcement with solving crimes, or

getting closer to solving crimes in the area. The Crime Stoppers

organization also awards those whom provide information in which will or

have assisted with either an arrest or solving a crime.

In the Crime Stoppers organization, Human Resource Management is needed and the most executed department. The HR department focuses on productivity of the organization and they focus on implementing policies and processes. The HR department with the Crime Stoppers organization focus on the performance development, and successful planning. Because the Crime Stoppers work closely with the community, they must maintain a positive and effective relationship with the individuals in community. But with all organizations, comes endeavors that an organization will be exposed to. These endeavors will either make the organization stronger, or weaker. One challenge Crime Stoppers face is socially not everyone want to work with the organization because of the fear of being labeled a “snitch”. The Officers always try to maintain a relationship with the community where they feel safe and trust the organization. This endeavor can hurt the organization because this organization relies on the involvement of the community, and if the community is in fear or does not want to work with the organization, then the organization will eventually fall and no longer exist. The HR department impacted such endeavor by implementing new and updated policies and procedures for the organization. The HR department have also implemented new approaches for the officers to approach each neighborhood, because as one knows, one cannot approach each situation the same.
