The three parts of personality which include ego superego and Id is
explained in the Sigmund Freud structural model of personality.
Freud argues that people are born with Id. The child cries when he
or she needs something. It is called a child Id. Ego starts
developing at the age of three. Ego being part of one’s personality
is rooted in reality principle (Feist). At the age of five years, the child starts to learn about
restraints, ethical rules and moral from people around him. Superego develops during this time.
Superego is built on moral principles. Freud believes that most active part of a healthy person’s
