Why did the US lose the Vietnam war ?

May 10th, 2015

1. Americans were the invaders and Vietnam was fighting in home soil. The Americans lacked knowledge of the geographical region.

2. the main role accorded to the US army was to hold back vietcong rather than winning the war.

3. After some years after the war began, American soldiers lost morale as they thought that they would accomplish their mission and win the war immediately they entered vietnam.

4. Highly ranked officials gave in and left their places for amateurs.

Thanks.
