Tone Revisions Assignment: 50 PointsThe following exercise gives you an opportunity to practice revising a document to reduce its negative tone and make it more reader-friendly in the way it approaches a problem.Revise the document below> You have just come back from a rather contentious meeting during which Joe Smith has suggested your clerks are really messing up on the job. You have to write a memo to him suggested things you can do to alleviate any problemsMEMO To: Joe SmithFrom: PUT YOUR NAME HEREDate: 1 March 2004Subject: “Mistakes” in Computer FilesI have been reviewing the “errors” in the computer files that you talked about during today’s meeting. At that time, you insinuated that theses errors were made by the employees in my department. I have discovered that the errors are more the fault of your people than mine. You suggested that I ask my clerks to review the documents by hand or switch off and review each other’s work. Due to the importance of their work, my people do not have the extra time to spend on such “endeavors,” nor am I willing to hire additional clerks to accomplish what I deem an unnecessary task.I recommend that you ask your people to be more diligent before they send the files on to my people. Perhaps if THEY switched off and reviewed each other’s work the REAL problem would be eliminated.Layout/page Design Assignment: 50 PointsThese page shows a very poorly formatted memo. Please revise it to ensure that it is:
• more reader-friendly in layout/page design,
• more reader-friendly in terms of things like lists, and
• More grammatically/mechanically correct.
Once you have completed the revision, email it to me as an attachment:
TO: Dan Simmons, department ChairFROM: April AndersonDate: 12 July 2003Subject: On July 10, the members of the Literature and Cultural Studies Committee met to determine our five initiatives for the upcoming school year. The purpose of this memo is to identify those initiatives for you, and give you some additional information about each of them. Our first initiative for the 2003-2004 school year is to recruit more majors into this option of study. Thus far, we have a total of 400 majors, but only 40 are pursuing our option. One reason students give for not choosing the option is that it is too “old-fashioned.” We plan to change that opinion, beginning this fall. To that end, our second initiative involves a marketing campaign to include a revamped web site, brochures, and even mini-spots on campus radio. Our third initiative involves creating proposals for several new courses, including ones on such topics as Hallucinogenic Literature, Women’s Scientific Literature, and Space, Film, and Literature. Our fourth initiative is the creation of at least one new position in the option. We would like to be able to search for a faculty member who is able to teach in the areas of women’s, scientific, and nature literature. Finally, we would like to create a scholarship for students to be funded by current full professors in the department. In order to allow our initiatives to run more smoothly, we have assigned certain committee members to four of them: Initiative 1: Dan Jenkins and Audrey Smith, Initiative 2: Sue Osborne, Kara Jenkins, and Molly Maguire, Initiative 3: Holly Golightly and Jane Eyre; Initiative 5: Dan Jenkins. The fourth goal will be worked on by all members of the committee. If you have any questions, let me know.

Rassmusen College Project Management The Skyscraper Project Case Study
The skyscraper project case study is divided into parts to be exploited in weeks 2 to 5. Eachweek you will be set tasks for discussion in the forum. You will also be set challengeactivities relevant to the week’s topics for you to apply to the case study, raise issues thatyou think are important and show your understanding of the case study situation, as well asyour critical thinking. The tasks you perform during the weeks from 2 to 5 on the skyscraperproject case study will ultimately feed into your final assignment. The skyscraper case study provides insights into the issues the construction project managerdeals with, they enable you to: Deepen your understanding of theories through viewing them in relation to practicalsituations in real-life projects. Challenge existing assumptions and construct new perspectives. Develop a greater appreciation of the complexity of managing modern constructionprojects. Use your skills of analysis and evaluation. Summaries ideas concisely and with clarity. Consider directions for further research. We suggest you read the case study several times, paying attention to the details. The case study captures the overview of the project, as well as the views of the parties involved, but you need to read between the lines and develop your own interpretation of the underlying issues.Analyse Relate examples from the case to relevant concepts from the lecture Carry out your own research to gain additional informationEvaluate Explain why a particular action has been successful / unsuccessful Suggest alternative appropriate courses of action, including analysis and evaluation of the expected results your suggested approach might haveFinally: Reflect and Summarise • Reflect on what you learned from the case study – if you were to take one thing away from this case study for your own work, what might it be? Summarise the key ideas concisely (in no more than three sentences) and with clarityThe Skyscraper case study has the following parts: Week 2o Façade installationo Steel frame installation Week 3o Staircases, design and installationo Fit-out lean room Week 4o Design management Week 5:o Steel frame organisationo Project organisationi will provide the rest of files upon confirmation

ITS 420 CSU W8 Local Linux in a Global Setting Questions
Option #1: Local Linux in a Global SettingYou are hired to plan and implement setting up a local Linux environment for a global organization. Your project is to setup a Linux environment for an organization that has offices globally with many computers and devices connected to the main office (headquarters), and with an access to a cloud-based environment. The organization also uses cloud-based environment, and your local Linux environment is connected to the cloud environment of the organization.Write a paper that contains the process of setting up Linux environment, detail explanation of the build and implementation, and how the environment will operate. Some of the topics and requirements may require research to properly address.Submission Requirements:Write an eight- to 10-page paper, not counting required title and reference pages. Include additional pages as needed to accommodate graphics.Format your paper according to the CSU Global Writing Center (Links to an external site.).Incorporate four to six scholarly sources to support your paper. The CSU Global Library is a good place to find these sources. You must address the following in your proposal and may make any assumptions which are not specified:Which Linux distribution(s) will be required? This should include information about both client and server operating systems.Describe the hardware to be used and the installation options.Describe how users will log onto the systems.Explain how systems will receive IP addresses.Explain how DNS will be accessed by the systems.Explain how users will securely share files within their group and other selected groups/users in the company. How will printing be implemented and managed? What kind of data encryption will be required?Explain the local host and network security requirements.
