So in order to simplify this, we must get rid of the parentheses.    so let's start by changing the minus to addition.  -1 and +-1 are the same so we use that principle here.

-5+(-1)(2-2p)

Now we can distribute the -1 to the inside of the parentheses.

-5+(-2+2p)

Since we just have addition now, we can drop the parentheses ( left them around the minus two so it was easier to see, but they are not necessary)

-5+(-2)+2p

combine like terms, (-5 and -2)

-7+2p and you are done!
