A new cruise line has just launched 3 new ships; the Pacific Paradise, the Caribbean paradise , and the Mediterranean paradise. The Caribbean paradise has 24 more deluxe staterooms than the pacific paradise. The Mediterranean paradise has 48 fewer deluxe staterooms than four times the number of deluxe staterooms on the pacific paradise. Find the number of deluxe staterooms for each of the ships if the total number of staterooms for the 3 ships is 903.

I need the # of each type of room in answer

let the number of staterooms in pacific paradise be x

So for Caribbean paradise  will  x + 24

and for the Mediterranean paradise  is  4x - 48

The total is 902

So  x + x + 24 + 4x - 48  =903

6x - 24 =  903

6x = 927

6x = 154.5

so x is 155 since there is no half state rooms

Therefore pacific paradise has 155,  Caribbean has 155 + 24, which is 179, and Mediterranean has 4x - 48, which is 572.

some minor corrections:

let the number of staterooms in pacific paradise be x

So for Caribbean paradise  will  x + 24

and for the Mediterranean paradise  is  4x - 48

The total is 903

So  x + x + 24 + 4x - 48  =903

6x - 24 =  903

6x = 927

x = 154.5

so x is 155 since there is no half state rooms

Therefore pacific paradise has 155,  Caribbean has 155 + 24, which is 179, and Mediterranean has 4x - 48, which is 572.

Hope this helps!
