Roles of social media and the internet

Technology is one of the facilitators of terrorism within America. The social media and
the internet provide the terrorist groups with an opportunity to communicate and spread
propaganda to large groups of people. Through the social media and the internet, terrorists will
have a chance to spread their information and recruit the members of the gangs which they use to
succeed in the terrorist activities. On the other hand, terrorism has a better way of
communication and following people who share their lives through the internet (Chertoff, 2009).
Terrorists have a way of finding the best and fittest members to join them and work with them
towards achieving success. The cyberspace is one platform that has no limits and privileged
places where terrorist acquire resources which they use for their terrorist attacks. Through the
social media and the internet, the terrorist has a chance to locate and launch their attacks against
their enemies. Therefore, the internet has remained one of the most effective ways through which
terrorists have succeeded in their operations within America.
