Decide if the graphs of the two lines are parallel.

2x+3y=35    y=2/3x-2

For lines to be parallel their slopes must be equal. You need to put these equations into slope-intercept form: 

y = mx + b 

2x+3y=35    y=2/3x-2

3y=35-2x    y=2/3x-2

y=(35-2x)/3   y=2/3x-2

y=-2/3x+35/3    y=2/3x-2


-2/3 is not equal 2/3 , so the graph of the two lines are not parallel.
