Part 1
Module 1
An innovative leader is a creative visionary with big ideas, who can motivate other
people around them on how to change the ideas to reality. Innovative leaders do not have to be
necessarily the originators of ideas but rather can recognize great ideas in people especially the
subordinate and then envision the way of changing the idea through implementation. They come
up with a vision and share it together with the enthusiasm of achieving it, with suppliers,
employees and business partners (Barsh, Capozzi, & Davidson, 2008). To achieve this progress,
they need to have excellent skills in communication and powerful imagination. These aspects are
supported by having confidence in the business team and the ability to work together with them
to achieve the dream. They also need to be risk takers and have the will to kill when the
opportunity presents itself. They are aware that a new innovative project requires individual
efforts, resources, energy and time. An innovative leader is not just a company CEO but acts as a
team leader and division manager (Chung-Wen, 2008). They need to have a motivating power on
other to invest on innovative ideas too.
