What is the mole fraction of NO2 in a mixture of gases made up of 5.0 g of NO2, 10.0 g of SO2, and 1.5 g of H2?

moles of gas=molar mass of the gas/mass

mole fraction of NO2=moles of NO2/total moles

(5 g NO2) / (46.0055 g NO2/mol) = 0.109 mol NO2

(10 g SO2) / (64.0638 g SO2/mol) = 0.156 mol SO2

(1.5 g H2) / (2.015894 g H2/mol) = 0.744 mol H2

(0.109 mol NO2) / (0.109 mol + 0.156 mol + 0.744 mol) = 0.11 NO2
