Balance the following redox reactions:

a) PbO2(s) +I-(aq) →Pb2+(aq) +I2(s)  in acidic solution.

b)MnO4-(aq) + Br-(aq)→ MnO2(s) + BrO3-(aq) in basic solution

1. PbO2+4H++4I--->Pb2++4I2+2H2O

2. 2 MnO4{-}(aq) + Br{-}(aq) + H2O(l) → 2 MnO2(s) + BrO3{-}(aq) +
2 OH{-}(aq)

can you explain please i don't know if this is right

sure just a sec

reduction:  I-(aq)----->I2(s)

oxidation: PbO2(s)------>Pb2+(aq)

Balance oxygen & hydrogen: PbO2+4H+------>Pb2++2H2O

add electrons to balance the equation: a.) PbO2+4H++4e---->Pb+2+2H2O

b.) 4I--->4I2+4e-

cancel out electrons & combine half reactions: PbO2+4H++4I--->Pb2++4I2+2H2O

this is the answer to the 1st one
