What is the limiting reactant when 18.5 g of Al is mixed with 22.8 g of Cl2 and reacts

A limiting reactant is one that is completely use up in a reaction.

2Al+3Cl2=2AlCl3

18.5*(1/26.9815)*(2/2)*133.34= 91.43g

22.8*(1/70.906)*(2/3)*(133.34)=28.58g

18.5g of Al produces 91.43g of AlCl3

22.8g of Cl2 produces 28.58 g of AlCl3

Therefore, Chlorine is the limiting reactant. the reaction will stop when Chlorine runs out
